Obituary

Robert Taylor Lane, age 89, passed away July 6, 2017 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro. He lived all of his life in Rutherford County, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Bob Taylor and Nellie Mai Nickens Lane. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Homer Lane.

Mr. Lane is survived by his wife, Marianna Alsup Lane; daughter, Patricia Lane Embree and her husband Michael Embree; grand daughter, Lane Embree Everett and her husband Joel; two great-grandsons, Miles and Nathan Everett; brother, Clifford Lane and his wife Nell; and one sister-in-law, Margaret Lane Major.

He was a graduate of Walter Hill High School. He was a Merchant Seaman for 3 years then he worked for the L&N Railroad and then for CSX for 39 years.

In his younger days, he enoyed fishing, hunting, and farming. He enjoyed helping others.

Funeral service will be at 4PM, Sunday, July 9, 2017 with a visitation two hours prior to the service. Burial will be 10 AM, Monday, July 10, 2017 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Bro. Frank Lipetri and Bro. Matt Harris will officiate. Pallbearers will be Danny Ray Tomberlain, Ike Davis, Jamie "Bubba" Davis, Gordon Barrett, Tommy Carter, and Chad Carter.
