Mary Lynn Wilks Gambill , age 80 of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away Saturday December 18, 2016. A native of Temple, TX, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Cornelius and Mary Elizabeth Scales Wilks. Mrs. Gambill was also preceded in death by her brothers, O. C. Wilks and Wayne D. Wilks, and by a sister, Elaine Wilks.

Mrs. Gambill is survived by her husband of 58 plus years, Johnnie Duff "Jack" Gambill, Jr.; sons, Johnny Keith Gambill and his wife Lisa of Murfreesboro, TN, and Todd Edward Gambill and his husband Timothy Watkins of Washington D.C.; grandchildren, Lynsi Blankenship and her husband Adam, Elly Linam and her husband Patrick, Jessica Gambill, and J. D. Gambill; and three great-grandchildren; brother, Edward Wilks and his wife Becky of Belton, TX; sister, Larita Cartwright and her husband Tommy of Belton, TX; and sister-in-law, Carol Wilks of Ft. Worth, TX.

Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Brother David Young and Brother Wayne Wilks officiating. Burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Chuck Wilson, Bill Vermillion, Ross Spielman, J.D. Gambill, Patrick Linam, and David Gambill serving as pallbearers.

Mrs. Gambill was a retired educator and administrator who worked for the Arlington and Fairfax County School systems before her retirement in 1995.  She graduated from MTSU with a BA in Education and she also received a Masters in Education from the College of St. Thomas.  Mrs. Gambill was a member of the North Boulevard Church of Christ,

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to 20/20 Vision at North Boulevard Church of Christ in memory of Mrs. Gambill.
