Dr. Gary Lewis Hodgin, age 63, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2016. Formerly of Lexington, TN, Dr. Hodgin is the husband of Betty Overall Hodgin and the son of the late James Hodgin and Aline Lewis Hodgin.

Funeral Service for Dr. Hodgin will be at 11 AM Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Brother Glenn Robb officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Rick Johnson, Gary Pope, Tom Anderson, John Webb, Steve Helms, Jimmy Stanfill, Larry Johnson, and Rick Grissom will serve as pallbearers.

Dr. Hodgin was a member of North Boulevard Church of Christ West Campus where he was devoted to his Life Group. He was a retired Professor of Economics from Belmont University in Nashville where he taught for 28 years. He enjoyed all sports, especially his St. Louis Cardinals and his alma mater, The University of Tennessee at Knoxville.

Dr. Hodgin is also survived by a daughter, Amy Hodgin of Murfreesboro; a step-daughter, Melissa Todd Smith and her husband Shane of Nashville; and three grandchildren, Ethan, Brody, and Sophie Smith.

Visitation will be 3 PM – 7 PM, Friday, October 28, 2016 at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.

The family has requested that memorials be made to North Boulevard Church of Christ West Campus Building Fund or St. Thomas Rutherford Foundation: Cancer Fund.
