Don Taylor Wilson Sr., age 88, died July 6, 2016 at his home. Mr. Wilson was a native of Springfield, TN and was the son of the late John H. and Sarah Warren Wilson Sr.
Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery. Reverend Don Wilson will officiate. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Grandsons will servce as pallbearers.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife of 65 years, Emily Lehning Wilson; sons, Reverend Don Wilson Jr. and his wife Carol of Benton, Kentucky and James Barry Wilson and his wife Christy of Horn Lake, Mississippi; daughter, Claudia Belcher of Murfreesboro; brother, John H. Wilson Jr. and his wife Lillian of Inverness, FL.; brother-in-law, Buddy Lehning and his wife Carolyn of Nashville; 9 grandchirldren, Jennifer Thompson and her husband Gordon, Becky Suggs and her husband Robert, Lauren Rudesill and her husband Jordon, Buffy Davenport and her husband Mark, Daniel Belcher and his wife Amanda, Edward Belcher and his wife Helen, Amy Clarkson and her husband Chris, and Josh and Kayla Wilson; 18 great-grandchildren, Wilson, Hil, Hank and Bo Thompson, Ande and Graham Suggs, Audrey Rudesill, Bailey, Samuel, and Benton Davenport, Will, Maggie, Jake, and Allie Belcher, Kale Belcher, Karliegh Brannen, Lane and Jackie Clarkson, and nieces and nephews.
Mr. Wilson was a member of Belle Aire Baptist Church, he was a 1946 graduate of Springfield High School, received his BS degree from Tennessee Tech University in 1950 and his master's degree from the University of Memphis. He was a teacher, principal, coach and retired from Horace Mann Insurance Company in 1995. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
