Zoey Kate
Inouye
September 18, 2022 – March 17, 2023
Zoey Kate Inouye was born on September 18, 2022, in Los Angeles, California. She passed from her mother's arms to the Lord's arms early Friday morning on March 17, 2023, during a complicated hospital stay after heart surgery.
Zoey means "life" and Kate means "pure". Zoey's middle name was chosen after her Gran, Kathy, and her Aunt Katie. Zoey's parents feel her name was perfect as she was light and joy to all who met her. Her parents were blessed by her and so incredibly proud. Zoey makes us better.
Zoey had Down Syndrome and was born with a congenital heart defect. All her life and even before she was born, Zoey was both a strong fighter and absolute precious soul. She was a calm and happy baby. She liked to be held and was content just to lay in the arms of her loving family and listen to them insert her name into oldies songs. She enjoyed going on family walks with her dog, Grizzly Bear, playing with her rattles, and chewing on the antlers of her deer, Violet. Zoey's smile was a precious gift that melted her parents' hearts every time.
Zoey is survived by her parents, Casey and Chaz, and big brother, Ethan Kai. She was loved from afar by many. On her father's side, her Mimi in Indio, and her grandfather, cousins, and great Aunt Sharon in Maui. On her mother's side, her Gran, her great Aunt Mildred, her Uncle Chris and Aunt May, her Aunt Candy and Uncle Jesse, her Aunt Katie, and several beloved cousins in Tennessee.
Casey and Chaz are so grateful they got to be Zoey's parents and are thankful to all her family and medical team for their fierce love and care for their precious angel. Her life was short but her legacy is profound and her family forever changed.
