DR. LELAND GERALD JORDAN age 88 of Fosterville, died Friday June 18, 2010 at St. Thomas Hospital. He was a native of Fosterville and the son of the late Guy and Clatie Brothers Jordan. Funeral services will be 3:00PM Sunday at the Fosterville Baptist Church. Dr. Don Frensley will officiate and burial will be in the Fosterville Cemetery with full Military Honors. Dr. Jordan is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Jarman Jordan; son, Leland Gerald Jerry Jordan, Jr. of Nashville; daughters, Marsha Jordan Allen of Nashville, and Mary Alyce Jordan Smith and her husband Ken of Tampa, FL. Dr. Jordan was a graduate of Christiana High School and Middle Tennessee State University, and the University of Tennessee School of Dentistry in Memphis. Dr. Jordan was a dentist in Nashville for 40 years before his retirement in 1993. He was a former member and deacon at the Donelson First Baptist Church. Following his retirement , he moved back to his family farm in Fosterville where he was a member, deacon and teacher of the adult Sunday school class at Fosterville Baptist Church. Dr. Jordan was a veteran of WW II serving in the United States Navy in Japan. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
