DONALD RAY DON BULLET GANDY, SR. age 69 of Murfreesboro, TN, died Wednesday December 16, 2009. A native of Meridian, MS, he was the son of Willie Mae Boone Gandy Myles of Jackson, MS and the late Paul Eugene Gandy. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, with Rev. F. Murray Mathis and Jim Gage officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr. Gandy is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Glynda Rossell Hunter Gandy; mother, Willie Mae Boone Gandy Myles of Jackson, MS: sons Michael Ray Gandy of Murfreesboro, TN, Donald Ray Gandy, Jr. of Spring Hill, TN, and Ronald Glynn ( Stephanie) Gandy of Grand Prairie, TX; daughters, Barbara Gandy (John) Graves of Garland, TX, Donna Kay Gandy of Murfreesboro, TN, and Belinda Gandy (Jay) Stewart of Sachse, TX; brother, Terry Gandy of Killeen, TX and sister, Barbara Banks of Canton, MS, eight grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Don Bullet Gandy has had a long term career in Law enforcement and Private Investigation. He worked for the Rutherford County Sheriffs Department serving as Chief of Detectives for many years. He began his career as a private investigator in 1979 when Don Gandy Investigations was founded. Mr. Gandy was appointed by Governor Ned Ray McWherter to the original board of the Tennessee Private Investigation Commission even serving as President. Don has provided a long service to the people of Rutherford County. Don also served as the Constable of the 16th District for over 20 Years. Mr. Gandy was a member of Short Creek Baptist and was a US Marine veteran. Pallbearers will be Truman Jones, Virgil Gammon, Ben Hall McFarlin, Jr., Gary Neill, Randy Morton, and Bill Carroll. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Royal, Ron Lax, and Jim Gage. In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Mr. Gandy may be made to the Rutherford County Pet Adoption & Welfare Services (PAWS) at 2885 John R. Rice Blvd. Murfreesboro, TN 37129.
