John Michael "Mike" Rutledge, age 57, of Murfreesboro, TN went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 31, 2015. A native of Bedford County, and long-time resident of Cookeville, TN he was preceded in death by his father, John Warner Rutledge. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Stones River Baptist Church. Brother Oscar White will officiate. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Lone Oak Cemetery in Lewisburg, TN. Mr. Rutledge is survived by his loving wife, Stephanie Ritter Rutledge; mother, Helen Brown Rutledge Sanders of Smyrna, TN; two daughters, Grace Ellen Rutledge and Michaela Ann Rutledge; brother, Scott Lee Rutledge; and sister, Helen Elizabeth Worley and her husband Tim all of Murfreesboro; along with several nieces and nephews. Mr. Rutledge was a member of Stones River Baptist Church in Smyrna. He was a 1975 graduate of Bedford County High School and received his Bachelor's degree from MTSU. He was a proud and founding father of Sigma Epsilon. Mr. Rutledge dealt in Insurance Sales and was the owner of Payroll Benefit Services. He had many hobbies he enjoyed including golfing, fishing and coin collecting but most he loved his precious daughters. Scott Rutledge, Matt Rich, Tim Worley, Garrett Cushman, Will Barnett, and Wally Ritter will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to Stones River Baptist Church in memory of Mr. Rutledge. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna.
