Gary Lee Dunn, Jr. age 44 of Smyrna, TN. went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday February 25, 2015. Gary was born on March 2, 1970 in Versailles, KY. He lived most of his life in Smyrna, TN. Gary graduated from Smyrna High School class of 1992. He attended Smyrna Church of God where he was an active member serving the Lord as an usher, a door greeter, and he enjoyed singing with the men's choir. Gary was a prayer warrior and loved talking and praying to the Lord. He worked at Journeys in Community Living in Murfreesboro for 22 years. Gary was preceded in death by his daddy, Charles E. Harris, his maternal grandparents, Wesley and Ethel Cannon, step grandmother Kim Cannon, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Gary loved everyone especially the Lord. He had a pure and generous heart. He loved to go out and eat, especially hamburgers, fries, and a frosty. He loved watching wrestling, Days of Our Lives, The Walton's, The Dukes of Hazard, and Little House on the Prairie. He was a gentle and caring person, always trying to please people. He loved his mother with all of his heart and soul and was very protective of his "baby" sister Gina. Left to cherish his memory with absolutely broken hearts, are his mother, Jean Harris, sister Gina Harris, uncle Wesley E. Cannon Jr., (Sheila), aunts Peggy Cannon, Tangelia Qualkinbush (Anthony), Tiffany Wooten (Dawson), and cousins Glenna Williams, Tess Hogancamp, Brayden Wooten and Weston Wooten. He is also survived by special sisters, Sabrina Anderson and Becca Henson as well as several great aunts, great uncles, cousins, family and friends. The family would like to thank Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, his cardiologist, Dr. Thomas Doyle, his nurse, Mary Beth, and his personal physician, Dr. Cindi Jones-Wood for all their love and care throughout the many wonderful years they took care of him. Visitation will be this Sunday from 2:00 until 6:00pm at Woodfin Chapel Smyrna. Funeral services will be Monday at 2:00pm at Woodfin Chapel Smyrna with Brother Scott Bane and Brother Joe Sissom officiating. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Jeff Segroves, Dawson Wooten, Doug Basler, Anthony Qualkinbush, D.J. Basler and Doug Dimedio serving as pallbearers.
