"When I tell the story of Jesus, I feel God's Pleasure." Winston Garrett Schloot, age 85 of Murfreesboro, TN, died Sunday Oct. 6, 2013. A native of Bedford, IN, he was the son of the late Wilbur Schloot and Evelyn Lowry Schloot Turner. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Josephine Rose Roberts Schloot who died in 2011. Mr. Schloot is survived by his children, Nancy Hatton and her husband Paul of Murfreesboro, TN; Julie Schloot of Nashville, TN; David Schloot and his wife Jenny of Smyrna, TN; grandchildren, Paul Hatton (Heather), Emily Hanks (Jesse), and Zane Schloot; great grandchildren, Reid and Rylan Hanks; sister, Mabel Smith and her husband Greg of Indianapolis, IN. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday at North Boulevard Church of Christ with Brother David Young officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be at North Boulevard Church of Christ from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday and from 1:00 PM until time of service on Thursday. Winston loved God and considered it an honor to raise his children in the Lord and share Him with everyone he came in contact with. He was a member of North Boulevard Church of Christ where he served as Senior Adult Minister and Outreach. Mr. Schloot served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War. He was loved by family and all who knew him.
