WINFORD EUGENE ODOM age 83 of Smyrna, TN died Monday October 11, 2010 at the Tennessee State Veterans Home. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Guy Leburn and Gladys Lora Robinson Odom. He was preceded in death by sisters, Irene Keyes and Janelle Reeder. Mr. Odom is survived by his wife, Frances Davis Welch Odom; Step-son, William Perry Welch and wife Nancy of Jackson, MS; step-daughter, Bettye Welch Boyd of Smyrna, TN; brothers, Leonard (Margaret) Odom of Atlanta, GA, Neal (Anne) Odom, Wayne Odom, and Kenneth (Ruth) Odom all of Smyrna, TN; sisters, Connie Stewart of Nashville, TN, Loyce (John) Adkerson and Juanice (Jim) Winchester both of Smyrna, TN; grandchildren, Marshall Boyd, Michelle Watson, Morgan and Melissa Welch; great granddaughter, Brooklyn Boyd. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday at Woodfin Chapel Smyrna with Brother Tim Lavender officiating. Burial will follow in the Mapleview Cemetery. Mr. Odom was a member of the Smyrna Church of Christ, a WW II Army veteran, and retired as Superintendent of the Smyrna Water Department for the City of Smyrna with 35 years of service. Mr. Odom was a charter member and past president of the Smyrna Lions Club. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
