William Glen Waldron, age 90 of LaVergne died Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at Stonecrest Medical Center after a brief illness. He was a native of Rutherford County and one of seven children born to Emmett Washington and Daisy Taylor Waldron, Sr. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers Emmett Jr., Paul, Fred, and Vester Waldron and a sister Gertrude Pavatte Waldron. Mr. Waldron was an Elder of the LaVergne Church of Christ where he had attended since 1923. He was a United States Army Air Corps Veteran having served in WWII and a retired homebuilder. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Mary England Waldron; a daughter Sandra Waldron and a son Glen Taylor Waldron and his wife Brenda all of Smyrna; grandchildren Landon Barnickle and his wife Spring of Nashville, Ashley Dowd and husband Patrick of Huntsville, AL, Megan Newby and husband Ryan and Austin Barnickle all of Smyrna, Grant Waldron and fiancé Courtney Olson of Nashville, Stuart Waldron of Smyrna and six great grandchildren Gowain, McKinsey, Patrick, Connor, Shaun and Colin; a brother Roy Lee Waldron and his wife Joyce of Murfreesboro; a sister in law Ruby Timmons of LaVergne and a brother in law Jimmy England of Murfreesboro. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00am until the time of funeral services beginning at 12:00 noon at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna with Jon Gary Williams and Jerry Barber officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Mapleview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Grant Waldron, Kenny England, Austin Barnickle, Ryan Newby, Jerry Prince, Cecil Painter, Stuart Waldron, David Waldron and Patrick Dowd.
