William Henry Roden, age 81, of Murfreesboro, died Friday, August 24, 2012 at NHC. Mr. Roden was a native of Rutherford County and was the son of the late Willie O. Roden and Christine Perry Roden. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 52 years Mildred K. Greggs Roden; son Clifford Ray Roden; daughters Carolyn Roden and Betty Grace Adams Rooker; sisters Nina Roden, Janie Elizabeth Roden; brothers Jesse Terry Roden, Ben Tom Roden, Sr., and Edward Earl Roden; and two grandchildren Kevin Wade Adams and Melanie Denise Adams. Mr. Roden is survived by his sons Pete Roden of Smyrna, Gary Roden of Murfreesboro, Wade (Clara) Adams of Milton, David (Brenda) Adams of Readyville, and William Rick (Reba) Adams of Murfreesboro; daughter Kathy Banks of Christiana; brother James Holland Roden of Murfreesboro; sister Mary Helen (Hoyte) Bain of Lebanon; sister-in-laws Beulah Roden and Dorothy Dot Roden both of Murfreesboro; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-granchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; former wife Rosie Holt (Roden); everlasting friends Mack and Linda Yearwood; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Roden retired after 30 years with the LaVergne Co-Op and enjoyed wood working. Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Monday at Woodfin Funeral Chapel. Glenn Bud Mitchell and Bob Bush will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Wayne Greggs, Terry Roden, Billy Joe Greggs, Allen Gammons, Gerald Greggs, Justin Roden, Mack Yearwood, and Eric Roden will serve as active pallbearers. Visitation will be 4:00 until 8:00 PM Sunday at Woodfin Funeral Chapel.
