Mr. William Read Powers, Sr., age 93, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away Thursday, March 18, 2021. He was born in Rockvale, TN to the late William Vincent and Parrie Read Powers. Mr. Powers proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was of the Christian faith. Mr. Powers enjoyed gardening, watching baseball, and attending Blue Raider football and basketball games.

Mr. Powers is survived by his children, William Powers, Jr. and his wife Carolyn and Kay Spence and her husband Mitchel all of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Josh Spence and his wife Kristi, Michael Powers, Jessica Spence, and Melissa Johnson and her husband Chris; and five great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Ann Harrison Powers, and siblings, Cathryn Nance, Otho Nance, and Frankie Pinkerton.

Visitation with the family will be Sunday, March 28, 2021 from 12:00noon until 2:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 28, 2021 at 2:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Burial will take place in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
