William Bill N. Rose Jr., age 73, of Murfreesboro, TN. died Saturday, June 25, 2011 at the V.A. Hospital. A native of Ewing, Kentucky he was preceded in death by his parents, William N. Rose Sr. and Bertha Collins Rose and his sister Betty Sue Perraut. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:00 AM at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Minister Bert Scott will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Rose is survived by his wife, Aileen Brandon Rose; daughter, Lisa Rene Rose of Tucker, GA.; brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Kathy Jo Rose of Cythiana, KY.; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Rose was a member of Murfreesboro Christian Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force from June 19, 1956 until January 26, 1965, being stationed at Parks, AFB, CA training for military police; Kadena AFB, Okinawa & Iwo Jima; Otis AFB, MA; temporary duty on Long Island, NY; Dobbins AFB in Marietta, GA; and Sewart AFB in Smyrna, TN. While in the Air Force, he had the honor of standing guard of the presidential plane, helicopter and fuel for President John F. Kennedy for 2 years when the president came to his summer home on Cape Cod on the weekends. After his military service, Mr. Rose worked at Greer Stop Nut for 30 years. He retired with Tridon as a machine set up operator. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Murfreesboro Christian Church or a Charity of your choice.
