William Jay Miller, age 74 of Murfreesboro, TN, died Saturday April 26, 2014. A native of Hanover Township, PA, he was the son of the late Edward and Helen Miller. Mr. Miller was a graduate of Kings College, Wilkes-Barre, PA. Music filled his life, along with his love for dogs. He took pride in his volunteer work with AOL, Ask A Teacher Forum, and earning the Volunteer in the Lights award. Mr. Miller is survived by his wife of 54 years, Barbara Miller of Murfreesboro, TN; sons, Jay Miller of Mountaintop, PA, Wayne Miller of Hanover Township, PA, and David Miller of Murfreesboro, TN; daughter, Barbara Stevenson of Murfreesboro, TN; sister, Penny Wright of Florida; Four grandchildren and One great-grandchild. Graveside service will be 2:00 PM Friday at Evergreen Cemetery with Pastor Bill Werth officiating. Family visitation will be one hour prior to the graveside service. Mr. Miller was a member of the Abiding Faith Lutheran Church in Smyrna, TN, and a retired Therapeutic Activities Director of the PA Department of Corrections, S.C.I. Dallas.
