RUCKER MANKIN, JR. age 84 of Shelbyville, Tn. died Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at Middle Tn. Medical Center. He was a native of Rutherford County and was the son of the late William Rucker Mankin, Sr. and Rena May Elrod Mankin. He is survived by his wife, Odell Messick Mankin; daughter, Patsy (Ray) Jean Morris, Smyrna; sister, Carolyn Stephenson, Murfreesboro; three grandchildren, Jackie Roberson, Tammy Spooner, Stephanie Taylor; great grandchildren, Jacob Bouldin, Hailey Spooner, Andrew Spooner, Faith Jernigan, John Tinsley, Zachary Roberson. Funeral services 10 am Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with Jim Highland officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be 4-8 pm Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Mr. Mankin was a member of the Baptist Church and a retired employee of Avco after 33 years of service.
