William Burton "Burt" Johnson, age 91 of Murfreesboro, died Monday May 1, 2017. A native of Smyrna, he was preceded in death by his parents, Warmuth and Anna Lee Kellum Johnson, a brother, Kellum Johnson, and also by a son, Rodney Burton Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a member of Third Baptist Church and a retired Insurance Adjuster. He was a US Army Veteran and served in Europe during World War II.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Emma Irene Robinson Johnson; son, Dennis Byron Johnson and wife Deborah of Arizona; daughter, Mitzi Sadler of Texas; grandchildren, Christopher Lee Johnson of Washington, Tammy Denise Shust of Arizona, Justin Michael Sadler of Texas; Lindsay Diana Williamson of Oklahoma, Courtney Hillman and Jarrod Johnson both of Texas; twelve great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Amsey Johnson and wife Harriett of South Carolina; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10:00AM Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral Services will be 11:00AM Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with Military Honors.
