William James Heineman born 3/16/35 in Virginia Beach, VA to Christine Gallup Heineman and Henry Leo Heineman. Bill is preceded in death by three brothers: Albert Henley, Ben Henley and Rudy Heineman. He is survived by his daughters: Mary Griffin (Nolensville, TN) and Elizabeth Youngs (Louisville, TN), 5 grandsons: J.T. Wash, Richey Ward, Aaron Barrett, Mitchell Barrett and Joshua Griffin and 3 great grandchildren: Josie, Abel and Della Ward. Bill graduated from Austin Peay State University with bachelors and master's degree in Education. He had attended Virginia Tech on a football scholarship as their quarter back and finished his athletic scholarship at APSU. Bill was on the New's Day's 1952 Nassau County all scholastic football team representing Garden City, NY high school. His team mate and friend was football legend Jim Brown. Bill was a long time high school teacher for the Montgomery County School System. He taught at Green Wood, Montgomery Central High,North West's Vo-tech center and most of his career at North East High School as a marketing teacher. He devoted many summers as a counselor at Camp Rainbow for disabled children. He loves sports, UT football, 50's music, listening to a good rainfall and his 5 grandson's. Bill had a zest for life, always saw a silver lining in every situation and genuinely loved others. His smile could light up a room and his jolly laugh made everyone feel welcomed, included and loved.
