William Elmer Hammonds, Jr., age 93, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2017. He was a native of Nashville, TN and the son of the late William Elmer and Sadie Green Hammonds, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Amanda Drucilla Overby Hammonds.

Funeral service will be 11:00am Saturday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Interment will be 1:00pm Saturday in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

He is survived by his children, Robert Hammonds and wife Denise of Murfreesboro, Danny Hammonds of Walter Hill, Paul Hammonds and wife Linda of Georgia, Terry Hammonds and wife Evelyn of Kingsport, Tracy Hammonds of Washington D.C.; brother, Jerry Hammonds of Madison; grandchildren, Valerie Perkins, Robert Hammonds, Jr. Vanessa Wills, Paul Jay Hammonds, Garrett Hammonds, Jessica Hammonds, Brad and Brian Hammonds, eight great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and numerous other step grandchildren, great grandchildren and other loving family and friends.

Mr. Hammonds was a US Marine who served in WWII and a retired sales manager with Ajax Turner.
