William Noel Cotton, age 80, of Murfreesboro, TN, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 22, 2018. A native of Coral Gables, FL, he was the son of the late Joe Wellington and Dorothy Lillian Spain Cotton. He was also preceded in death by his son, William Wellington Cotton; brother, Joe Wellington Cotton Jr; and his sister, Dorothy Busey.

He is survived by his loving wife, Frances England Cotton; daughter, Bonita Joy Smith and her husband Kenneth of Orlando, FL; sister, Joy Claghorn of Miami, FL; step-children, Jimmy McDougald of FL, Timmy McDougald of FL, and Kathy Daugherty of Murfreesboro; and granddaughter, Dawn Smith.

Mr. Cotton had a very strong Christian faith. He was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War and an even prouder veteran having served with the United States Marine Corps. Later, he retired with the Department of Transportation with the State of Florida. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.

A private burial will take place at a later date in Flordia National Cemetery with military honors in Bushnell, FL.
