William R. Bill Young age 80 of Smyrna died September 7, 2011 at his home. He was born in Green County TN and was preceded in death by his parents, William Harvey and Lillian Rhea Young, first wife, Naola P. Young and step-son, Jimmy Rooker. Mr. Young was a member of Life Point Church in Smyrna and was a 25 year Veteran of the U.S. Air force during the Korean and Vietnam Conflict. He also retired from Better-Bilt Aluminum. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Young; daughter, Julie Wright of Smyrna; step-daughters, Pamela Smotherman and husband John of Smyrna and Sherry Scoby of Nashville; devoted granddaughter, Laura Crockett of Smyrna and four other grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren. Mr. Youngs Sunday School Class will be honorary pallbearers. Funeral service will be 1:00PM Friday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna with Dr. Lenny Farmer officiating.
