William "Bill" Kyle Branscom

William "Bill" Kyle Branscom, 79, of Murfreesboro, passed away on August 29th, surrounded by his family. He is proceeded by his mother and father, Robert and Gypsy Branscom, his sisters, Betty Dew and Anita Douglas. And many beloved aunts and uncles.

He is survived by his wife, Lynne; his children, Sarah Branscom, Megan Branscom Tucker, son-in-law, Greg Tucker, Melody Branscom Crim and son-in-law David Crim; and his grandchildren, Kaylee Tucker, Kyle Tucker, Joanna Crim, and Matthew Crim.

Bill was born in Oak Ridge, TN, and raised in Lake City, TN. He grew up at an idealistic time in a small town in East Tennessee where he was able to live out his adventurous spirit. He had wild stories of innocent mischief, curiosity with many taking place on the mountainside behind his house.

At 18, Bill was drafted into the Navy during the Vietnam War where he traveled to numerous countries as a part of a good will tour. Many letters to home told of his stories from overseas. After he left the military, he cut his teeth in Atlanta, GA where he started his career in computer sales, working for industry leaders such as Honeywell and Data General.

Continuing his career path, he moved to Knoxville where he met the love of his life, Lynne. They began a new life filled with new passions together: ski club, traveling and dancing at Chevys every Saturday night. During 40 years of marriage, they welcomed two daughters, Sarah and Megan and settled down in Murfreesboro, TN. There, Bill fulfilled his long-term dream of owning his own business. Starting with $10 from a yard sale so he could buy a business license, he started D-Tech Marketing. A sustainable company focusing on recycled toner cartridges for large corporations.

Bill had a passion for traveling, exposing Megan and Sarah at an early age with a trip to England along with many more family vacations. At retirement, Bill and Lynne traveled the world, creating memories together and with family.

Most importantly, Bill loved the Lord. He was a devoted member of Belle Aire Baptist Church where he continued to grow in his faith daily. There he, along with Lynne, have been blessed with a strong church family and, to this day, continued to walk alongside them.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His greatest joy was his family, and his love will continue to live through them.

Bill's memorial will be held at Woodfin's Funeral Home in Murfreesboro, TN. Visitation is from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM with the service beginning at 4pm. There will be a private burial on that following Monday.
