William D. "Bill" Bane, age 66 of LaVergne died Saturday November 8, 2014. He was a native of Smith County and is the son of Dewey C. Bane of Walter Hill and the late Thelma Duluth Bane. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Davis Bane who died in 2003. Funeral services will be 11:00AM Tuesday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Marion Carothers will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 4:00PM to 8:00PM Monday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Mr. Bane is survived by his wife Teresa K. Bane; father; Dewey C. Bane of Walter Hill, two sons, Ryan Bane and wife Amanda of Murfreesboro;Robert King of Charleston, South Carolina, daughters, Elizabeth Bane of Donelson, and Janet Ferguson and husband Scott of Nashville; sister, Alice McCaleb of Walter Hill; three grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. Mr. Bane was a 1966 graduate of Lebanon High School, and received his Engineering degree from Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville. He was formerly employed as an engineer at Middle Tennessee Electric Corporation and retired as an Electrical Engineer with Nashville Electric Service in 2013. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Woodfin Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements 615-893-5151
