William C. "R.C." Anderson, age 81, of Smyrna, TN, formerly of Gastonia, N.C., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September, 23, 2015. A native of Murphy, N.C. he was preceded in death by his parents, Moaten Anderson and Ada Stiles Anderson Robinson. Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Joel S. Hovis will officiate. A Masonic service will take place during the funeral. A private burial with military honors will take place in Middle TN Veterans Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the service time at the chapel. Mr. Anderson is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Carole Weatherford Anderson; son Dru Anderson and his wife Dena; grandchildren, Ashley and Alex Anderson all of Murfreesboro; and brother, Randal Anderson of Lincolnton, N.C. Mr. Anderson was a former member of Lowell Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was a proud veteran having served in the United States Army. Mr. Anderson was retired 35 years with Westvacto-Weyerhaeuser in Gastonia. He was a proud member of Sam Davis Masonic Lodge #661 in Smyrna and a former member of Lowell Lodge #590. Mr. Anderson was an avid fisherman and a loving grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Friends will serve as pallbearers.
