Wenoka Chapman, age 97, of Smyrna, TN, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 20, 2015. A native of Saltville, VA, and long-time resident of Squire, WV she was the daughter of the late L.D. and Mary Turner Tuggle. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Glen Chapman and three brothers. A graveside service will take place in Roselawn Memorial Gardens on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Brother Russ Stephens will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna. Mrs. Chapman is survived by her daughter, Glenda Strickler and her husband Pete of Smyrna, TN; son, Rodger Chapman and his wife Kim of Maryland; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Chapman was of the Baptist faith. She took great passion in quilting and sewing. Mrs. Chapman was a strong woman, always in charge, and a leader not a follower. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
