Obituary

WAYNE E. DEMUMBREUM, age 56, of Murfreesboro, died Monday June 28, 2010 after a brief fight with cancer. He was preceded in death by his brother, Howard Louis Demumbreum in 1949. Funeral service will be 10:00 am Thursday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Rick Duggin will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Diane Miller Demumbreum, sons, Joshua Wayne Demumbreum of Woodbury, Kenneth James Demumbreum of Murfreesboro, daughter, Rachel Leigh Demumbreum of Murfreesboro, parents, George Eugene and Sylvia Rebecca Harris Demumbreum of Murfreesboro, brother, Ernest Mitchell Demumbreum and his wife Patti (Popanda) of Murfreesboro, sister, Martha Jane Demumbreum of Murfreesboro, grandchildren, Jesse James Demumbreum and Adrianna Rose Demumbreum, cousins and childhood companions, Eddie Harris, Clayton Harris, Michael C. Harris, Thomas Holder, Dwight Holder, and numerous nieces and nephews. Wayne was born on December 31, 1953 in Rutherford County, but lived in various cities while his father was in the Navy. His fathers retirement brought the family back to Murfreesboro. Wayne had various jobs while in high school including gas station attendant, running movies at Martin Theater, and assembly at Samsonite. In 1973, he was in the first graduating class at Riverdale High School and then went to work for the Murfreesboro Electric Department. After 5 years he began apprenticeship to become a lineman and for 32 years he did the job he loved so much, lineman/mechanic. He attended Westvue Church of Christ. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Carter, Jack Nichols, Alan Ayers, Jim Fuller, Steve Elgin, Tom Sage, Dale Carter, and Tony Brown. Honorary pallbearers are the retirees and employees of the Murfreesboro Electric Department.
