Wanda Shires League Blythe Services for Wanda Lou Blythe, 84 of Murfreesboro, who died Sunday, August 11, 2013, at a daughter's home, will be 2:00pm, Wednesday, at Woodfin Memorial Chapel with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Pastor Verlin D. Thornton will officiate;he and his wife, Jean Thornton, will provide a special song. Grandsons serving as pallbearers are Lance Corporal Derek Picklesimer, Brandon Jones, Bragg Davis,Travis League, Matt League, Richard Brinkley, and great grandson, Tyler Young. A resident of Murfreesboro, she was born in Wardell,Missouri; her parents were the late John Lewis Shires and Lora Ardella Bruce Shires. Her first husband of 43 years was the late Walter Ray League; her second husband of 18 years was the late Allen Blythe. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mrs. James (Lelia) Reynolds, Mrs. Frank (Lorene) Davis, and Mrs. Clarence (Letha) Hopkins; nine brothers, Frank Powel Shires, Lindell Bruce Shires, William Louis Shires, George Douglas Shires,Phillip James Shires, Jacob Franklin Shires, Robert Gail Shires,Paul Robert Shires, and John Lewis Shires, Jr; one grandson, Alton Roy Davis. Survivors are two sons, Ronald Ray (Patricia Black) League, and Gregory Scott League, both of Murfreesboro;two daughters, Mrs. Dwight (Brenda League) Roberson, of Milton, and Mrs. Mike (Annette League) Picklesimer, of Murfreesboro a goddaughter, Mrs. Greg (Amy Alexander) Cato;two step daughters, Mrs. Randy (Mickie Blythe) Porter, of Murfreesboro and Mrs. Robert (Lisa Blythe) Mason, of Atlanta,Georgia; 12 grandchildren;10 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and The Church of God Prophecy,a.k.a. Restoration Fellowship. She was co-owner of the Frostop Drive-in; an employee of the Little Red Shoe House; a member and former officer of the Murfreesboro Chapter, No. 76, TOPS.
