Obituary

MRS. WANDA EDNA SEWARD CARTER, age 84, of Murfreesboro but formerly of Smyrna died Wednesday, July 2, 2008. She was a native of Rutherford County and was the daughter of the late Walter Edward & Anna May Petty Bell Seward. She is survived by sons, Thomas Houston Carter, III, Smyrna, Walter (Carol) Seward Carter, Murfreesboro, Buford (Stacy) Wayne Carter, Murfreesboro; daughters, Brenda (Kenneth) Faye Curlee, Murfreesboro and Wanda Mai Todd of Murfreesboro; sister, Mary Bell Seward Wallace, Maryville, Tn.; grandchildren, Sonya McCrary, Bryan Lowe, Ken Thomas, Todd Thomas, Cara Thomas, Tommy Carter, IV., Christy Friend, Lisa Carter, Lindsey Carter and Clint Carter and 9 great grandchildren. Funeral services 11 am Saturday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna with Ralph Buddy Neal and Marion West officiating. Burial in Mapleview Cemetery. Visitation with the family 4-8 pm Friday. Mrs. Carter was married to the late Thomas Houston Carter, Jr. who died in 1993. She was a member of the Florence Church of Christ and a former employee of Southern Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator from 1941-1945 and a homemaker. Pallbearers will be Ken Thomas, Bryan Lowe, Todd Thomas, Tommy Carter, Clint Carter and Howard Yarnell. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Elders and Deacons of the Florence Church of Christ.
