Walter Lee Overcast, MSgt Retired, age 54, died Tuesday, October 9, 2012 of a massive stroke. He was born in Murray, KY to the late Joe Hal and Shirley Jean Mohundro Overcast. Funeral service will be 11:00am Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, Murfreesboro, TN Graveside service will be 4:00pm Saturday at Foundry Hill Baptist Cemetery, Puryear, TN with Full Military Honors. He is survived by his wife, Sherry Ann Overcast, children, Deanna Lee Miller and her husband Michael of St. Charles, MO, Travis Wade Overcast and his wife Deeda of Luverne, AL, Sarah Konieczki Brown of Danville, IL, grandchildren, Heather Miller, Zaidie Overcast, Ethan and Claire Brown, and his beloved pug, Sarge. Walt was a US Air Force retiree having served his country for over 20 years. He was an aircraft mechanic who cherished the F-16 and A-10 in which he also was a Technical Instructor teaching others to master his trade. He was currently the Facilities Manager at Hampton Inn and Suites where his skills and abilities were able to coach and mentor a team of individuals to take their facility to the top 1% in the world.
