Walter Carl Karell, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, October 21, 2014. He was a native of Columbus, OH and the son of the late Walter Wolf and Francis Shover Karell. He was also preceded in death by his adopted father, Alex Karell and his son, Walter Charles Karell. Funeral service will be 3:30pm Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Pastor Charles Ray will officiate. Private family burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Melinda Moore Karell, son, Cliff Karell and his wife Claudia of Santa Clara, CA, daughters, Cheryl Karell and Kandi Karell both of Manchester, TN and Melinda Cormier and her husband Gary of Jeffersonville NY, grandchildren, Victor and Alex Karell. Mr. Karell enjoyed working with his hands and made a life in metal working and the automotive industry. As his family grew, he started a series of family businesses including a telephone answering service and ambulance service. He retired in 2005.
