Virginia Valentine, age 82 of Smyrna, died Monday at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Grainger County, TN and was a daughter of the late Charles and Pearl Valentine. She was also preceded in death by her husband Glenn Valentine in 1987. Survivors include a son, Glenn Valentine, Jr. and his wife Roberta of Florida; a daughter, Valerie Ferrell (Tim Fiste) of Elmwood; four grandchildren, James Elliott (Emily Quinn) of LaVergne, Jessica Elliott (Mark Smith) of LaVergne, Timothy Elliott and wife Kimberly of Clarksville, Jonathon Elliott of Cookeville and Chris Ferrell and wife LeAnn of Boaz, AL; ten great grandchildren, Haleigh, Ryleigh, Caden, Jasmine, Lydia, Elijah, Charlotte, Noah, Talli, and Juliette; brothers, J.C. Valentine of Seymour, Jim Valentine and his wife Sandy of Sevierville; sisters, Billie Rae Ott and her husband Joe of Knoxville, Geraldine Gibson and her husband Albert of Seymour and a sister in law, Lillian Evans of Maryville. Mrs. Valentine was a member of Stones River Baptist Church, a graduate of MTSU, a homemaker and talented artist. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 until 8:00pm at Stones River Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Saturday at Stones River Baptist Church with Bro. Oscar White officiating.
