Virginia Dare Patton Rowlett passed away on November 15, 2016 at age 93. She was born in Baxter, TN, but lived most of her life in Murfreesboro, TN.  She was a graduate of Nashville School of Business and worked several years in Detroit and Nashville before retiring to care for her parents until their deaths.

She then married James Rowlett, a Methodist minister in 1962. They served in churches from Sparta, TN to McKenzie, TN until his retirement in 1990. They lived in Murfreesboro until his death in 1998 when she moved to McKendrie Village in Hermitage, TN. In 2005, she moved to Baysmont in Kingsport, TN and then to Steadman Hill Assisted Living in 2012.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon McNeil and Farrnie Patton, and brothers Lenell and Charlie. She is survived by her nephew C. Mack Patton, MD of Kingsport, TN and her niece Peggy Besecker of Livonia, MI. Also surviving are two great nieces, two great nephews, and four great, great nephews.

A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 25, 2016 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Murfreesboro under the direction of Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
