Virginia B. Murphy-King, age 68, passed away Sunday, November 14. She and her husband live in Vernon, Connecticut. Virginia, Gini as she was known by her family and friends, retired from Cigna Insurance Company ten years ago. She and her husband have been in Murfreesboro, Tennessee for the past two years for her medical treatment. Gini was preceded in death by her father, James E. Murphy, Sr. of Erwin, Tennessee. She is survived by her husband, Joseph L. King and her mother Virginia C. Murphy of Erwin, Tennessee, two brothers, James E. Murphy, Jr. of Jonesborough, Tennessee and George C. Murphy of Pharr, Texas, two sisters, Jo Ann Boyd of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Judy M. Stevens of York, South Carolina. Gini is also survived by eight nieces and nephews, and eleven great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Vanderbilt Cancer Center, Nashville, Tennessee. Visitation will be Saturday, November 20 at 10:00 AM with services following at 11:00 at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
