Subject: Virginia K Lasseter obituary Virginia Keyes Lasseter passed away on Tuesday 12 May 2009. K, as she was known to friends and family, was born in Murfreeboro on November 24, 1944, the daughter of Robert Caldwell Lasseter Jr. and Lida Lee Loughry Lasseter. She was a graduate of Murfreesboro's Central High School and of Vanderbilt University. For the past 32 years she was a resident of Baltimore, Maryland where she worked as a genetic analyst researching schizophrenia and bipolar disorders at Johns Hopkins University. She is survived by her daughter Mercedes Lucia Suarez of Washington, D.C., her sister Betsy Lasseter Clark and husband Bill, her brother Samuel L. Lasseter and his partner Dillon Kyle, her brother Robert C. Lasseter IIII, her nephews Richard Keyes Hull and James Longstreet Hull, and her great-nephew Branson James Hull. A graveside service will be held 10:00 am Friday at Evergreen Cemetery in Murfreesboro. The family will receive visitors at the home of Bill and Betsy Clark following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Monhegan Island Associates at P.O. Box 97, Monhegan ME 04852, or to Linebaugh Public Library in Murfreesboro. K loved her life, her daughter, Pawley's Island, Monhegan Island, her garden, her family, her friends, art, music, swimming, travel, and was one of the planet's most enthusIastic people.
