Virginia Ralston Hall, age 86 of Murfreesboro died Friday December 23, 2011 at Adams Place. Mrs. Hall was a born in Rutherford County and lived in the same house she was born in until she suffered a debilitating stroke, about 10 years ago. She was the daughter of the late, Frances Smith Ralston, and George Gordon Ralston. Mrs. Hall was a 1943 graduate of Kittrell High School, and graduated from David Lipscomb in 1945 when it was still a Junior College. In 1947 she received her B.S. Degree from Middle Tennessee College, now MTSU. Later that year, she began her teaching career at Kittrell High School, and in 1947 she married Willie Clifford Hall, better known as Sam Hall who died in 1971. Mrs. Hall taught for 37 years; 31 years at Kittrell and 6 years at the old Halls Hill School. She retired in 1985, although she did some substitute teaching after her retirement. She was life time member of the Church of Christ and had attended Science Hill Church of Christ for over 40 years. She is survived by one son, Clifford Gordon Hall and his wife Kathy; four grandchildren, Chris Self, and wife Amy, Candy Perry, and her husband Jesse, Katie Hall and Casey Hall and 3 great-grandchildren; Emma, Michael, and Matthew Self. Funeral service 2:00PM Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Bud Mitchell will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
