Virgil Thomas Shoulders, age 78, of Smyrna passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019. He was a native of Smith County, TN and the son of the late Jimmie and Flora Gregory Shoulders.

Funeral service will be 2:00pm Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Bro. Jason Wheely will officiate. Burial will follow in Mapleview Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Barbara McCormack Shoulders, sons, Jeff Shoulders (Shwanda) of Dickson, Tim Shoulders (Barbara) of Smyrna, grandchildren, Zackary Shoulders ( Michelle), Samantha Grimes (Jesse), Maranda Shoulders, great grandsons, Russell and Jed, and his brother, Hugh Bradley Shoulders of Gallatin.

Mr. Shoulders was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Nashville. He was a computer programmer and later owned and operated A-Quality Fence Company until his retirement.
