Virgil Fights, age 76, died Monday, December 5, 2011. Mr. Fights is son of the late Val and Thelma Brown Fights. Funeral service is 6 p.m. Wednesday at Woodfin Funeral Chapel, Smyrna. Chaplain Dale Bilbrey of Odyssey Hospice will officiate. Burial will follow in Matthews, Indiana at a later date. Mr. Fights is survived by wife his wife, Dorothy Fights of Murfreesboro, TN; daughter, Pam Fights; brothers, Howard Fights and Alford Fights; sisters, Barbara Black, Janet Rector, Patty Ann Gillispie and Beatrice Nash, all of Indiana; seven step-children; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many step-grandchildren.
