Veva Lynne Dalton

Mrs. Veva Lynne Dalton, age 81, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2026. Veva was born in Mason, West Virgina on December 6, 1944, to James August Hussell and Veva Marie Capehart Hussell.

Mrs. Dalton worked in the field of law enforcement as a Corrections Officer with the Broward County Sherrif’s Department in Florida. It was there that she met her husband, Oscar Dalton. The pair lived in Florida until retirement, at which time they moved to Tennessee, settling in Murfreesboro.

Veva is survived by her son Rob McKee of Davenport, Florida and daughter, Shawn Marie Fand of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; goddaughter, Noy Sensombath of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Oscar Dalton and her brother, James “Tony” Hussell.

Veva was a practicing Buddhist and enjoyed spending time with her close group of like-minded believers.

Mrs. Dalton was well loved by all who knew her. She was known for her friendly disposition and her kind heart. She will be deeply missed by the people whose lives she touched.
