Mr. Vernon Edward Steffey, age 82, of Smyrna, TN passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024. He was born in Kingsport, TN to the late Gerson and Mary Silcox Steffey. Mr. Steffey worked as an aircraft mechanic for many years starting at the Tri-City Airport, then to the Nashville Airport, before retiring from the Smyrna Airport. He enjoyed tinkering with things making sure he maintained his family's cars. Saying he was an avid golf enthusiast would be an understatement. Mr. Steffey watched all kinds of sports on television including the Predators, Titans, and Braves.

Mr. Steffey is survived by his wife of 63 years, Winona Steffey; children, Brian Steffey and his wife Denise, Shirley Steffey, and Garin and Lisa Steffey; grandchildren, Jordyn Marin and her husband David, Maegan Steffey, Daniel Wood, Evan Wood, Chandler Wood, Mary Beth Steffey, and Matthew Steffey; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be Saturday, July 27, 2024 from 1:00pm until 2:00pm at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 2:00pm at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna.
