VERNIE EUGENE GENE SULLIVAN, age 59 of Smyrna died Wednesday June 23, 2010. He was a native of Cheatham County and was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Mamie Varden. Mr. Sullivan was a Christian and had worked for Nashville Bridge Company and retired from Metro Nashville Public Schools Maintenance Department. He is survived by his children, Darrell Sullivan and wife Heidi of Smyrna, Andrew Sullivan and his fianc Deborah Meyer of Goodlettsville, Amanda Gronda and her husband, Michael of Mt. Juliet, Dawn Slominski and her husband Greg of Indiana; brothers, William Lester Varden and his wife Beverly of Smyrna, Marvin Sullivan and his wife Peggy of Smyrna, and 13 grandchildren. Funeral service will be 2:00PM Sunday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna with Tim Parish officiating burial will be 4:30PM Sunday at Old New Hope Cemetery in Fairview with Ken Munday officiating.
