Vallie Grey Gregory Tapscott, age 89 of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away Sunday October 14, 2012. A native of Macon County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Fleeta Howser Gregory. Mrs. Tapscott was also married to the late James Aaron Tapscott who passed away in 2011. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Mickey Norman and Louise Russell Mrs. Tapscott is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Patricia Tapscott of Mt. Juliet, TN; daughter and son-in-law, Retha and Victor Woods of Murfreesboro, TN; sisters, June Douglas of Goodlettsville, TN and Jo Bradley of Hendersonville, TN; grandchildren, Nikki Koehler of Wartrace, TN, Anna Tapscott of Louisville, KY, Victor Woods, II, and Penny Wilson both of Murfreesboro, TN; great grandchildren, Erica Maupin, Victor Woods, III, Leighton Mans, Jessica Wilson, and T. J. Wilson; great great grandchild, Jayden Wilson. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday at Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna with Rev. Leonard Rader officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Tapscott was a member of Green Hill Baptist Church where she worked in the nursery and took care of the church plants. She spent many years nurturing children and plants. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rutherford County Sheriffs Office memorial fund, 940 New Salem Hwy.
