Tonya Rae Oakes, age 63 of Smyrna, Tennessee died Sunday, June 29, 2025, at StoneCrest Medical Center. She was a native of Ohio and a daughter of the late Marshall and Wanda Hamby. She was also preceded in death by a son, Joshua Oakes.

Survivors include her son, Eric Oakes (Tiffany) of Smyrna; former husband and father of her children, Anthony Oakes of Crossville; and a host of other loving family and friends.

Tonya was a kind and caring person in everything she did, her light shining as bright as it could. She was a beloved part of our life and losing her will be felt for decades to come.

Visitation with the Oakes family will be at Woodfin Memorial Chapel, Murfreesboro on Thursday, July 3, 2025, from 1:00pm until the time of funeral services beginning at 3:00pm with Pastor Kent Unklesbay officiating.
