Thurman "David" Payne, age 60, of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018. A native of Kettering, OH, he was preceded in death by his parents, Thurman and Mayme Madewell Payne; grandmother, Cora Madewell and Zella Payne; and brothers-in-law, Mike Chapman and Roger Williams.

He is survived by his children, Andrew (Kaci) Payne, Matthew Payne, and Cora Elizabeth Payne; and their mother, Deanna Michalowski all of Murfreesboro; siblings, Deborah Chapman of Murfreesboro, Lois Williams of Denton, TX, Elizabeth West of Smyrna, Sam (Beth) Payne of Franklin, TN, and Sarah Wilson of Murfreesboro; and much loving extended family.

Mr. Payne was a veteran having served in the United States Navy. He was self employed and worked in construction for many years.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna, followed by a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. at Mapleview Cemetery in Smyrna with military honors.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
