Thomas Raymond Phipps, age 61, of Smyrna, TN, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014, following a sixteen month battle with cancer. Thomas was the son of Jane Dougherty Phipps and the late Harlan Phipps. He is also survived by his wife, Lynda Phipps; a sister, Diane Brooks; daughter, Rachel Robertson; five step children, Jennifer Lindner, Andrew Lindner, Christine Lindner, Sean Lindner, Kelly Hughes and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday at 1:00PM at Woodfin Chapel in Smyrna. Wayne Cornwell will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with military honors. Visitation will be Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel from 4:00PM to 8:00PM. In lieu of flowers, Thomas requested donations be made to the Lawrence Gardner Fund, c/o Highland Heights Church of Christ, P.O. Box 465, Smyrna, TN 37167.
