Delbridge

Thomas Euin Delbridge,
age 82, passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2012.
He was a native of Rockvale, Tennessee and the son of the late Thomas Euin and Margaret Smotherman Delbridge.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara Delbridge; daughter, Sherry Delbridge Chaffin and her husband Doug of Murfreesboro; sons: Thomas Euin Delbridge III and his wife Renee of Rockvale, Randal Lee Delbridge of Readyville, and Richard Delbridge and his wife Jean of Murfreesboro; sisters: Patricia Frost of Culpeper, VA, Sandra Brannon and her husband Jack of Rockvale, and Greta Brown and her husband Homer of Murfreesboro; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. Delbridge joined the Air Force following his graduation from Rockvale High School and spent 21 years in the service of his country.
There he met and married his wife, Barbara Smith Delbridge of Concord, N.C.
Upon retirement from the Air Force, Mr. Delbridge completed a masters degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and returned to work for the State of Tennessee planning, equipping, and evaluating vocational education programs all across the state.
He completed a second masters degree in Public Administration from Nova Univeristy in Florida.
Mr. Delbridge also served the state at the Tennessee Rehabilitation Center in Smyrna as Director of Administrative Services until his retirement in 1996.
He served as a Rutherford County School Board member from 1988-2002, two years as chairman and ten years as vice-chairman.
He was a member of the 1988 class of Leadership Rutherford and served on various advisory boards.
Mr. Delbridge was a 50-year member of the Rockvale Masonic Lodge #413, a York Rite Mason, and a member of the Shrine.
Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 1 with a Masonic Funeral service at 7:00 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel.
Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2 at the Westbrooks Cemetery with Robert Vick officiating.
The family would like to thank the administration and staff of the Tennessee State Veterans Home with particular appreciation to the nurses and technicians of the North Wing for their excellent care and concern for our loved one.
