Thomas Carr, age 82 of Murfreesboro, died Sunday, December 21, 2014. He was a native of Overton County, and the son of the late Shirley Howard and Earnal Gore Carr. Mr. Carr is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ethel Carr; daughters, Debbie Carr of Ft. Jones, CA, Karen Carr, Kim Luther and her husband Brad all of Murfreesboro; sons, Tim Carr and his wife Pam of Dickson and Tom Carr of Columbia; five grandchildren and a host of other loving family and friends. Mr. Carr was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church and a United States Naval Veteran who served during the Korean War. He retired as an Industrial Engineer from Burroughs-Ross-Colville in McMinnville. Mr. Carr enjoyed leading a Boy Scout Troop in the 1970's, was an avid camper, and loved traveling throughout the United States. Visitation will be Saturday, December 27, 2014 from 10:00 am until the time of memorial services beginning at 12:00 noon at Blackman United Methodist Church with Dr. Jim Clardy officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Memory Memorial Cemetery in McMinnville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Boy Scout Troop # 398 c/o St. Marks United Methodist Church, 1267 N.
