THELMA STRINGFELLOW PHILLIPS, age 88, of Murfreesboro died Thursday, July 16, 2009. She was a native of Buena Vista, GA and the daughter of the late Tonnie Buckner and Ruth Pearl McCorkle Stringfellow. She was the wife of the late John Dayton Phillips who died in 2002. Funeral service will be 2:00pm Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Rev. Ken Polk and Rev. Harold Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Phillips of Murfreesboro, son, Rev. Larry Phillips of Memphis, sister, Sara Mitchell of Talbottom, GA, grandchildren, LaRae Bluemel, John Ben Phillips, Jaynie Phillips, all of Murfreesboro, and 8 great grandchildren. Mrs. Phillips was a member of Northside Baptist Church and was retired from the Murfreesboro City School System. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to the Northside Baptist Church Disaster Team in memory of Mrs. Phillips.
