Thelma Nixon age 89 of Bradyville died Thursday June 8, 2017. She was a native of  Rutherford County  and was preceded in death by her husband Charles Nixon; parents, Willie Walkup and Cora Elizabeth Wilson Walkup. Mrs. Nixon was a member of the Baptist Church and was retired from Alvin C. York Medical Center.

She is survived by her son, Larry Nixon and wife Mary Alice of Woodbury; daughter Donna Boyd of  Bradyville; grandchildren; Reuben Boyd of Bradyville, Stephen Nixon and wife Michelle of Woodbury, Melissa Patterson and husband Shannon of Georgia, Dana Nixon, and  Michael Pratt of Woodbury; sister, June Walker of Beechgrove; brother, Billy Walkup and wife Pat of Beechgrove.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.

Funeral service will be 2:00PM Saturday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Danny Walkup will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 3:00PM to 7:00PM Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel www.woodfinchapel.com
