Terence Miles "Terry" Tenpenny

Terence Miles “Terry” Tenpenny, age 69 of Smithville, TN, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2026. A native of Murfreesboro, TN, he was the son of the late Tony Tenpenny and Alice Ruth Keller Tenpenny. Terry was also preceded in death by his brothers, Charles and Dennis Tenpenny and by his sister, Candace Tenpenny.

Terry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sherrilyn Manus Tenpenny; daughter, Tonya Stem and her husband James of Smithville, TN; grandchildren, Mileena Stem of Ocala, FL, Rayden Stem of Smithville, TN, and Michael Inge of Colorado; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Adalia, Grayson, and Olivia Inge.

Visitation with the family will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 12, 2026, following the visitation with Brother Bobby Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.

Terry was a member of Covenant Baptist Church and a former employee of MTSU.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
